Minneapolis Interagency Early Intervention Committee
Family Connections is part of the Minneapolis Interagency Early Intervention Committee (MIEIC), composed of parent consultants and representatives from Minneapolis Public Schools, Hennepin County, Head Start, ARC and other agencies serving young children and their families.

IEICs are mandated by state and federal law as part of the Individuals with Disabilities Educational Improvement Act (IDEIA) to:

Promote the early identification of children with medical or developmental concerns,

Assure these children receive the care and learning opportunities they need, and

Provide support to families of those children.

Early intervention is identifying children with special concerns early and providing them help as soon as possible.

Participating Members of the IEIC
The Minneapolis IEIC is composed of staff from the Minneapolis Public Schools, the city of Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota Department of Health and non-profit organizations focused on helping young children and families succeed.
