 | | | | | | Committees of Interagency Early Intervention | | | Early Intervention has several committees in which both parents and professionals can participate. Family Support, Child and Family Services, and Outreach each provide opportunities for families and service providers to increase awareness about early intervention, share information and offer assistance to families of young children with special needs . |
Family Connections Committee Identifying the challenges family members experience when young children have disabilities is the job of the Family Support Committee. Over the last few years, the Family Support Committee has implemented support systems for families including, Changed by a Child, the Parent-to-Parent Network and the Family Connections Newsletter. State guidelines require this committee to have 50% parent participation. |
Child and Family Committee The Child and Family Services Committee addresses issues with services that children with disabilities and their families receive. The goal is to strengthen and enhance the coordination of appropriate resources. |
Outreach Committee The Outreach Committee efforts are focused on “child find” strategies to increase public awareness about the importance of early screening. Through outreach efforts to diverse target audiences, parents, families and service providers (health, education, childcare, social services) are educated about 348-TOTS and other services available to families and young children with disabilities. |
