Home Based InstructionCommunity Based InstructionCenter Based InstructionAutism ClassroomsHome Based Instruction The home based program recognizes that the child is a member of a family system as well as a specific community. Services are offered in the child’s primary environment focusing on the strengths and priorities of the parents and primary caregivers in their communities. |
Community Based Instruction Special education professionals work collaboratively with the child's regular education preschool teacher to meet the child's educational goals. The placement of children in the community is determined by the IFSP/IEP team based on their goals and objectives, number of minutes of special education services needed to meet these goals, and the least restrictive environment. Children are served at Head Start, High Five, community preschools and day cares, Early Childhood Family Education classes and Kindergarten Express. |
Center Based Instruction Birth to five special educational services provided in a self-contained classroom setting. Each class can have up to eight students. Related services (speech/language, occupational therapy, physical therapy, vision, etc.) are provided based on the student’s individual education plan (IEP). |
Autism Classrooms Specialized self-contained autism classrooms for toddlers and preschool students.The Autism classrooms provide a 2:1 student-to-staff ratio with a preferred maximum of 4 students per class for the toddler classes (18 mos.-3 yrs.) and 6 students per class for the preschool classes (3-5 yrs.). Related services (speech/language. occupational therapy. etc.) are provided based on the student’s individual education plan. |
